NIS is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Alphonso “Al” Ross as the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) J6 Enterprise Technology Services (JETS) Program Manager (PM). In this role, Mr. Ross will be responsible for business development and contract operations for all DLA task orders.
Mr. Ross brings 25 years plus experience in program management positions in industry and U.S. military strategic and tactical satellite communications, telecommunications, information systems, and security program management. Prior to joining NIS, Mr. Ross was the PM for the PM Defense Communications and Army Transmissions System (PM DCATS) for RLM Communications, a Senor PM and Director of Security for DRS Technical Services, Inc and a Senior PM with Spacelink International.
Al is a Lieutenant Colonel, US Army Signal Corps (retired) having finished his military career after managing several programs for the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) including the Worldwide Commercial Bandwidth, the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) and the Commercial Satellite Communications Initiative programs. He was also a Department of the Army Inspector General. And just in case you thought he never got dirty, he is a Master rated paratrooper with over 100 military jumps to his credit with assignments in the 82nd Airborne Division, Joint Communications Support Element, and US Army Special Operations Command.
Mr. Ross holds a MA degree from Boston University and a BS degree from Norfolk State University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
