The Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) contract is a planned $151 billion, 10-year, multiple-award IDIQ vehicle designed to rapidly deliver innovative, scalable defense capabilities that protect against evolving threats across air, missile, space, cyber, and hybrid domains. Using a mix of contract types and modern approaches like AI, digital engineering, and agile development, SHIELD aims to increase speed, flexibility, and integration in deploying both classified and unclassified solutions to support national defense and the warfighter.
